"Tsali" is the name of a Cherokee Indian man who gave his life so that some of his people could stay in the Great Smoky Mountains region.
This place is one of my all time favorite trails. I don't know if it is the fact you don't need any maps and the 2 distinct loops are well marked or the terrain and scenery are second to none.
Tsali alternates between horses and bikers and today was mountain bike day on these 2 loops. The weather was amazing and the trails were in pristine condition.
I noticed that when I ask locals ( Asheville bike shops ) about Tsali they down play it as being too far ( 75 min drive ) given what is closer but man this could not be farther from the truth ( in my opinion )
